Q: What type of payment do you accept?
A: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
Q. Why was my credit card order declined?
A. There are many reasons why a credit card order may be rejected on the Sailor Plastics web site.
These may include:
• An incorrect billing address used on the order
• An incorrect Security Code being entered for the order
• An incorrect expiration date used
• You can receive a bank decline due to not enough funds available for the order, credit limit exceeded, card cancellations, or fraud review
Please contact your bank directly for additional details on declined orders.
Q: When will my credit or debit card be charged?
A: You may see a pending charge on your account for your order total when your order is placed. This pending charge is an authorization hold to ensure the funds for your order are available. The funds will then be captured when the order ships.
Q: I have a tax exempt number, how do I add it to my account?
A: Please visit our Tax Exemption Instruction page. There we have posted a link to the Tax Exempt/Certificate of Resale form. Please follow the instructions on the page.
Q: Does the price of bottles include the shipping?
A: Shipping will be calculated in the shopping cart and checkout.
Q: Is there any way to get free shipping?
A: We do not offer free shipping.
Q: How does Sailor Plastics ship packages?
A: We have partnered with SPEE-DEE Delivery and UPS for our online store. We also utilize LTL freight carriers to ship pallets.
Q: How long will it take to receive my order?
A: We estimate your order will arrive within 3 – 5 business days. Shipping times are affected by many different factors to include your location and time of year. The estimate provided above is not a guarantee, please allow adequate time for shipping.
Q: Do I need a loading dock to receive a pallet?
A: If you don’t have a loading dock, we can still deliver a pallet to you via liftgate. You must request this when you place your order as sometimes there is an additional fee for the service. The driver will load your pallet onto a platform and lower it to street level for drop off. You are responsible for transporting the pallet from there. Please ensure you have a way to move the pallet from the drop off spot to the final location.
Q: Is Sailor Plastics the manufacturer?
A: Yes! We proudly manufacture our bottles in Adrian, Minnesota USA.
Q: Are Sailor Plastics bottles FDA compliant?
A: Yes, we have a certificate of compliance.
Q: Are the bottles microwave safe?
A: Yes, however the bottles cannot get heated to over 140 degrees.
Q: Does the price of bottles include caps?
A: Yes, if caps are selected in the “Cap Style” drop down on the product page. The price displayed will be for the case of bottles and caps. If “No Caps” is selected, then the price displayed will be for the bottles only.
Q: Do we get matching amounts of caps and bottles?
A: Yes! We bag our caps in bags of 25. Depending on the bottle type, most cases will come with the same number of caps as bottles. If the case size is not in an increment of 25, the box may contain extra caps.
Q: Can we use our own caps from another supplier?
A: We suggest you buy the caps with the bottles to ensure a proper fit. If you wish to use your own you may do so, but please be advised Sailor Plastics is not responsible for caps (cap fit or durability) that we do not supply.
Q: Do we have to wash the bottles first?
A: Depending on your use for the bottles follow your specific food or product handling requirements. If this includes a bottle washing, please note the bottles are not dishwasher safe.
Q: I need a product specification sheet. Where do I find it?
A: You can conveniently download a spec sheet in PDF format from the product description section located on the product page.
Q: Will Sailor Plastics label each case with our PO number and/or part number?
A: Yes, we can perform this on request for large orders. If you require extra labels, please contact us & let us know your specific requirements.
Q: Does Sailor Plastics have any glass products?
A: Sailor Plastics supplies PET Bottles and other HDPE products, but we do not carry any glass products.
Q: How long does it take for my online order to be processed?
A: We process all orders for in stock items received on business days before 10:00 AM CST the day they are received. (also applies to phone orders)
Q: What is Sailor Plastic’s minimum order amount?
A: We offer all our products in case quantities. We will sell you 1 case or 1 truckload!
Q: Are there discounts for large quantity purchases?
A: Yes! Contact us for special pricing on orders 11 cases or more.
Q: What is Sailor Plastics lead time for large orders (pallet orders)?
A: Depending on our manufacturing schedule we may ask for a 2-4-week lead time, most orders we can fulfill with our large inventory.
Q: Can we purchase smaller quantities than what you offer?
A: Unfortunately, we only sell our bottles by the case.
Q: Can I ship my order to multiple locations?
A: Yes & No. You must place a separate order for each location the bottles will be shipped to. To make this easier, use your account to save multiple shipping addresses.
Q: What if I’m not satisfied with my order?
Q: Does Sailor Plastics have colored bottles?
A: We have clear PET bottles, Squeezable natural color LDPE bottles and HDPE products of multiple colors. We can special order colored material for most of our bottles with a minimum order amount and set up fee.
Q: Will Sailor Plastics tool a new bottle design for me?
A: Sailor Plastics is always looking for new opportunities. Please contact us if you would like more information on tooling a new bottle.
