Besides finding success with alcohol delivery last year, DoorDash has also expanded its capabilities. With its latest release, the third-party delivery service has added the ability for customers to order their favorite adult beverage along with their food - which is great news for restaurants without alcohol options.

You will now be able to browse alcohol options from nearby liquor, convenience and grocery stores once you have selected your meal from a restaurant. The beverages you wish to purchase can then be added to your shopping cart and you can proceed to the checkout.

“As we continue on our mission to be the one-stop shop for all local commerce needs, we’re excited by the endless possibilities with DoubleDash to connect customers to new categories in a seamless way, while providing incremental growth opportunities for our local convenience, grocery, and liquor store merchants,” Ben Damon, product manager at DoorDash, said in a statement.

DoorDash launched the new offering a few months after introducing dual ID verification for alcohol orders. A customer's ID must be scanned with the DoorDash app before a delivery person can give them alcohol and complete the delivery. The company reports 130% store growth in the alcohol category since launching alcohol deliveries last year, more than doubling its alcohol stores.
